On-Site, On-Time, On-Target Cobble Hill Health Centers Avram
Dialysis Center is under the direction of Dr. Morrell Avram, renowned
nephrologist and pioneer in kidney disease treatment. Many of Dr.
Avrams patients have been receiving dialysis for over 20 years.
He has personally trained Cobble Hill staff to administer hemodialysis
treatment on-site.
Message From Dr.
Morrell Avram:
Normal kidneys work hard and nature has provided us with more renal
(kidney) function than we really need. Although we have two kidneys,
people born with only one kidney, or who donate a kidney for transplantation,
are able to lead normal, healthy lives. If, however, renal function
drops below 20%, serious health problems will result and dialysis
is often recommended. For nephrologists, the futures challenge
is to increase the longevity of patients with kidney failure and
we are always working toward that goal. Research is ongoing.
For
Cobble Hill dialysis patients, treatment is convenient and comfortable
because it is administered on-site. Patients can receive their meals
on time, dont have to wait for transportation to and from
clinics and can be back in their rooms within minutes of treatment.
In short, there is minimal disruption of their regular schedules
and lives. That makes, what is a difficult process, much easier.
Please
take the time to read this information about our on-site clinic
and give us a call if you have any questions. Our staff will be
happy to assist you.
